What We Do
For over 30 years, The Deepwood Foundation has committed to Building Brighter Futures for individuals and families impacted by Developmental Disabilities through advocacy, community awareness and increased opportunities. The Foundation was formed by forward-thinking parents, family members, Developmental Disability professionals, and advocates who recognized the ever-increasing need for and importance of community-backed financial aid in Lake County. The work of Deepwood Foundation supports individuals with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome and so many more life altering challenges.
Pillars
Increased Opportunities
Through the generous assistance from private and corporate donors, the Deepwood Foundation provides financial assistance in the form of grants for special services, tools and items necessary for children and adults to achieve their full potential. These grants fund camp scholarships, after school programs, local school classroom needs, specialized equipment, hearing aids, respite care, home care services, community education, recreation, and more
Advocacy
Through resource development, the Deepwood Foundation connects and collaborates with community partners to ensure the holistic needs of all individuals impacted by developmental disabilities are met regardless their current financial situation.
Community Awareness
Through fundraising efforts and events in Lake County, the Deepwood Foundation engages the community in dialogue surrounding the unique abilities and needs of people with developmental disabilities.
Help is Still Needed
As a 501(c)(3) charity, The Deepwood Foundation relies on grants, community fundraising efforts, tax-deductible corporate sponsorships, and personal contributions to help those who cannot fully afford the services, equipment or items they require. Because of all of the generous contributions over the past fifteen years we have been able to serve more than 600 children and adults annually through various programs.
The Deepwood Foundation Board of Trustees has accepted the challenge of preparing to meet another decade of increasing responsibility in this essential area of need. Your ongoing donations make the difference to children and adults impacted by developmental disabilities. We are so grateful for your continued support!
